Mapping neighbourhoods at a large scale offers new perspectives on how we move through space

In collaboration with MABELLEarts, we organized a creative mapping workshop for Rathburn Area Youth (RAY) provides support and leadership opportunities for kids aged 13 to 24 in the communities of Central Etobicoke. The workshop centred around a printed large-scale map of their neighbourhood. The kids were asked to locate their homes and the most important places they frequented in their day-to-day lives. They were asked to rename their favourite streets, post sticky notes locating things they felt the neighbourhood was missing and then, build those things and find the perfect spot for them.
